Schneider Electric and Nvidia partner to build AI datacenter cooling and management systems aimed at the EU’s AI action plan.

The deal dropped at Nvidia’s GTC Paris event. Schneider will back racks pushing power loads up to 1 MW, matching rising demand for AI-ready, sustainable infrastructure.

Europe wants at least 13 AI “factories” plus five AI gigafactories. Schneider and Nvidia see a big play here, combining Schneider’s electrical gear, cooling tech, and racks with Nvidia’s GPU-based AI hardware.

Schneider also rolled out new gear in its EcoStruxure lineup designed for high-density AI clusters. That includes prefab datacenter pods that support racks with 1 MW loads or more, ready for fast deployment.

Google is also planning 1 MW racks for AI, signaling rising industry standards.

Other launches:

  • NetShelter SX Advanced Enclosures: taller, deeper racks for heavier, cabling-heavy systems.
  • NetShelter Rack PDU Advanced: power units built for AI’s high power needs.
  • NetShelter Open Architecture racks, inspired by Open Compute Project, compatible with Nvidia’s GB200 NVL72.

Schneider leverages Motivair’s direct-to-chip liquid cooling acquired last year for in-rack cooling.

Schneider CEO Olivier Blum said at the event:

"Together, we’ve seen tremendous success in deploying next-generation power and liquid cooling solutions, purpose-built for AI datacenters."

Schneider told The Register some operators could save up to 30% by using prefab datacenter solutions and get faster time-to-market.

This deal puts Schneider and Nvidia squarely in the middle of Europe’s AI hardware buildout push.
