Samsung is eyeing a major investment in AI search startup Perplexity. According to Bloomberg, the deal could bring Perplexity’s tech to Samsung devices, including pre-installed apps and integrations in the default browser.
Samsung is reportedly one of the biggest backers in Perplexity’s latest $500 million fundraising round, which values the company at $14 billion. There’s also talk of using Perplexity’s AI to upgrade Samsung’s own assistant, Bixby.
This partnership could be revealed as soon as this year.
Both Samsung and Perplexity have not commented on the report.
Perplexity is also catching the attention of other tech giants. Apple is considering adding it as a search engine option for Safari, while Motorola recently announced its own partnership with the AI firm to enhance its devices with smart features.
Stay tuned for updates as this develops.
