Moonhub is shutting down. Contrary to prior announcements, it’s not being acquired outright by Salesforce. Only a portion of Moonhub’s team will transition to Salesforce, as confirmed by a spokesperson.
In a now-updated blog post, CEO Nancy Xu stated, “As a customer and investor, Salesforce has already played a role in Moonhub’s journey.” Despite the confusion, this shift puts Moonhub’s recruitment AI tools out of operation.
Salesforce is on a shopping spree. Just last week, they closed an $8 billion deal for Informatica. Last month, they acquired Convergence.ai to pump up their AI capabilities.
Founded in 2022, Moonhub focused on AI solutions for hiring. Their tools helped identify candidates and streamlined onboarding processes. They raised $14.4 million from various investors, including Khosla Ventures and GV.
Salesforce is leaning heavily into AI, with 93% of Fortune 500 HR leaders integrating such tools. Despite mixed feelings from job seekers about AI in hiring, Salesforce’s Moonhub acquisition fits their growth strategy.
Here’s the original CEO quote for context:
"By joining Salesforce, we are accelerating our mission in this next chapter."
"Moonhub’s talented team will play a key role in advancing Salesforce’s AI strategy."
