Reddit is betting big on AI in Q2 earnings, pushing ad tools and data deals hard.
Ads still dominate revenue with $465M, 93% of total haul. Reddit launched new ad features last month: Reddit Insights, tracking trends from billions of posts, and Conversation Summary Add-ons that inject user opinions straight into ads.
The “other revenue” bucket, which covers data licensing, rose 24% year-over-year to $35M. Reddit already licenses data to major AI players like Google and OpenAI, building a steady income stream from AI services.
The AI-powered Reddit Answers tool keeps growing fast. It jumped from 1M users in Q1 to 6M weekly users now. CEO Steve Huffman said they’re working on folding this tool deeper into Reddit’s search.
Steve Huffman stated:
“We are working to integrate the tool more deeply into the core search experience to make search a central feature across Reddit.”
