Pinterest is rolling out “auto-collages,” an AI tool that turns product catalogs into shoppable collages for advertisers. The feature is meant to speed up creative work and boost customer engagement.
The launch comes as collages have exploded in popularity with Gen Z users on the platform. Pinterest says auto-collages are saved twice as often as regular product Pins in early testing.
Auto-collages group product images based on outfits, user engagement, and similar items. They can create stylish looks or find items related to what users have already saved.
Pinterest VP Julie Towns explained the feature comes from its Ads Labs program, aimed at keeping brands ahead with generative AI.
“Auto-collage was born out of the Pinterest Ads Labs program that launched last year, where we innovate new generative AI products that help brands stay ahead of the curve,” Julie Towns said.
“The auto-collages tool is an exciting leap that harnesses AI to instantly transform how brands turn their product catalog into fresh creative that resonates with Gen Z and beyond.”
Along with auto-collages, Pinterest updated its “Trends” tool. The refresh helps advertisers predict what users plan to purchase by analyzing saved and shopped items.
