Nintendo is set to launch its new Switch 2 this Thursday, marking the company’s first new console in eight years. Priced at $449.99, the device promises significant upgrades over its predecessor.
Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang hyped the Switch 2 in a recent video, describing the chip as “unlike anything we’ve built before.” He stated:
"It brings together three breakthroughs: The most advanced graphics ever in a mobile device, full hardware ray tracing, high dynamic range for brighter highlights and deeper shadows, and an architecture that supports backward compatibility."
Huang emphasized that the console includes dedicated AI processors to "sharpen, animate and enhance gameplay in real time."
His comments come just days before the Switch 2 hits stores. Nintendo aims to sell 15 million units in the first year. Huang also paid homage to former Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata, highlighting his vision for the company.
"Switch 2 is more than a new console. It’s a new chapter worthy of Iwata-san’s vision."
