Meta is rejiggering its entire AI operation around building AI “superintelligence.” The new unit is called Meta Superintelligence Labs, sources at Bloomberg say.

All AI teams now report into this single group. Alexandr Wang, ex-Scale AI CEO, steps up as chief AI officer. He’ll team with Nat Friedman, who’s taking charge of AI products and applied research.

This move comes hot on the heels of Meta dropping $14.3 billion on Scale AI earlier this month, which brought Wang aboard.

Zuckerberg is doubling down on the AI race, also scooping up 11 AI researchers from rivals. New names include Google DeepMind’s Pei Sun and Anthropic’s Joel Pobar.

Meta’s stacking talent, focused squarely on chasing artificial general intelligence (AGI) and superintelligence goals.
