Anthropic is pushing hard on AI agents as the next big leap beyond chatbots. Jared Kaplan, co-founder and Chief Science Officer, laid it out in a recent TechCrunch Sessions: AI talk with Maxwell Zeff. He says agents will massively expand what AI can do.

The company also opened up on some recent controversies. Anthropic pulled some model access from Windsurf, a startup reportedly on its way to being acquired by OpenAI. That move stirred up the AI community.

Kaplan didn’t shy away from politics either. He slammed the Trump administration’s AI policies and backed Anthropic’s calls for more regulation and transparency.
