Huawei launched HarmonyOS 6 today at its Developer Conference. The big highlight is a new Intelligent Agent Framework built for the OS’s personal assistant, XiaoYi. It’s designed to read context and interact with users more naturally—no more basic voice commands.
XiaoYi can scan your entire screen for info, similar to features like Circle to Search. On stage, Huawei demoed XiaoYi helping with Excel tasks through ChatExcel and even aiding app development for HarmonyOS 6.
Another new feature: Touch and Share. Tap your phone to a compatible PC (probably Huawei devices only) to instantly send multiple files or jump into games with friends.
The Developer Beta Program opened today and runs until June 30. Devs must verify with Huawei’s Developer Alliance. Supported devices include the Mate 70/70 Pro, Mate 60/60 Pro, Mate X5, and MatePad Pro 11-inch (2024) plus 13.2-inch (2025) models.
