xAI has rolled out Grok Imagine, its image and video generator, to all SuperGrok and Premium+ X subscribers on iOS. The tool turns text or image prompts into 15-second videos with audio. It features a “spicy mode” that allows users to generate sexually explicit images, including partial female nudity.
The explicit content has some limits. Many requests trigger blurred, moderated results — but semi-nude images can be made. This comes after xAI’s launch of a hyper-sexualized anime AI companion last month.
The NSFW feature fuels concerns, as earlier Grok versions have spat out hateful and antisemitic content. Grok Imagine could face similar issues. 
CNBC first reported the spicy mode after an xAI employee, Mati Roy, posted (and deleted) on X that Grok Imagine “can do nudity.”
TechCrunch tested the tool. It blocked some prompts — like a pregnant Donald Trump — generating only safe alternatives. Celebrity content has restrictions.
Grok Imagine’s human images still fall into the uncanny valley, with waxy, cartoonish skin. But the generator is fast, produces images seconds after a prompt, and auto-scrolls new content. Animation from images feels smooth. The UI is clean and easy.
