Google launched a new AI-powered Search feature called Web Guide on Thursday. It’s a Search Labs experiment that organizes search results by grouping pages around different aspects of your query.
Web Guide uses Gemini AI to better understand search intent. It clusters results to highlight angles you might miss in a normal Google Search. Think of it like AI-powered folders for your results.
The feature targets open-ended questions like “how to solo travel in Japan” or detailed queries such as managing long-distance family relationships across time zones. Each section zeroes in on a specific type of answer—guides, safety tips, personal stories, and more.
Users can opt in to Web Guide via Search Labs. The experiment toggles on the Web tab and can be turned off there without quitting the test entirely. Google plans to expand this AI grouping to other tabs, like All, over time.
Web Guide joins other Search Labs tools like AI Mode, Notebook LM, and Flow, part of Google’s ongoing push to embed more AI in Search.
