Google launched a new AI virtual try-on feature for clothes in the U.S. today. Users can upload a full-length photo of themselves to see how apparel items from Google’s Shopping Graph look on their own bodies. The feature appears in Search, Google Shopping, and Google Images product results.
To try it, tap the “try it on” icon on a product page. After uploading your photo, you can save and share your looks. This marks a shift from Google’s prior try-on tools, which only showed clothes on diverse model bodies, not personalized to users’ images.
The launch follows Google’s experimental Doppl app released last month, which also uses generative AI for virtual try-on but targets deeper style curation and can produce AI-generated outfit videos.
Google also updated price alerts today. Shoppers in the U.S. can now set alerts based on price, size, and color preferences. Google will notify users when an item meets their criteria.
Google’s Director of Consumer Shopping, Danielle Buckley, explained the price alert upgrade:
“The Shopping Graph has products and prices from all across the web — so we’ll let you know when there’s an offer that meets your criteria,” said Danielle Buckley, Google’s Director of Consumer Shopping, in a blog post.
“No more constantly checking to see if that bag you’re eyeing is finally at the right price for you or forge ing to come back to a product you loved.”
This fall, Google will roll out a new feature using generative imagery for shoppable outfit and room design ideas. Users can get style and décor inspiration that pulls from the 50 billion products in the Shopping Graph.
Google is doubling down on AI-powered shopping tools — virtual try-on, smarter price alerts, and soon, generative style help — with a growing focus on personalized experiences.
