Adobe predicts Prime Day sales will hit $23.8 billion this year, a 28.4% jump from 2023. The four-day event (July 8-11) is expected to drive huge online spending, with mobile making up 52.5% of purchases.
Generative AI is also surging. Adobe says AI-driven traffic will climb 3,200% year-over-year during Prime Day. It’s still small compared to paid search or email, but growing fast as shoppers turn to AI tools.
AI-powered chatbots and browsers saw a big boost last holiday season, with traffic jumping 1,300% from Nov 1 to Dec 31, 2024.
Adobe surveyed 5,000 U.S. consumers. They used AI mostly for research (55%), recommendations (47%), deals (43%), gift ideas (35%), unique finds (35%), and shopping lists (33%).
Of those, 92% said AI improved their shopping experience. And 87% said they’re more likely to use AI for bigger buys.
Google’s Gemini and OpenAI’s ChatGPT shopping features are tapping into this AI-shopping trend.
Adobe says apparel will have the biggest discounts on Prime Day. Back-to-school shopping will also boost sales.
