Exploring Galaxy AI Camera Functions Including Night Mode, Generative Edit, and Additional Features

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra just rolled out some wild AI photo fixes that might actually make you a better photographer—no skills needed.

The catch? Your photos don’t have to be perfect anymore. Frame chopped off your LEGO Yellow Submarine? No problem. The Galaxy’s new “Generative Edit” can expand your photo and fill in the missing parts. It can even remove unwanted objects with a tap, like erasing a minifigure with no sweat.

Check this before shot—missing the top of the submersible’s periscope:

I had literally one job to do. And I failed.

Now watch AI remove that annoying LEGO character:

To paraphrase Barry Scott: Bang! And The Boob is gone!

And finally, the AI fills in the periscope by expanding the edges:

Then there’s the crazy “Sketch to Image” tool. Samsung says you can just scribble on a photo and the AI turns it into real-looking stuff. The reporter’s doodle of a hat looked like nonsense—but the Galaxy S25 Ultra transformed it into an actual LEGO-style hat. Unreal.

Scribble:

Not a hat.

Transformed into this:

Very much a hat.

The creative tweaks don’t stop there. The AI lets you resize and move elements on the fly. Ringo gets blown up four times bigger and popped in place, with LEGO studs added where his feet should be.

It even knew to pop a couple of Lego studs where Ringo’s feet used to be. WHAT IS GOING ON?!

Finally, the Spot Colour feature helps the Beatles pop against a black-and-white background with just a tap.

The phone also shines in low light with its “Nightography” tech that stacks 30 images and uses AI to boost detail and color. A night shot of a plush toy Bear Bat is clear and colorful, while a previous phone’s pic is nearly black.

The old phone’s snap for comparison:

My old phone shall, for its own dignity’s sake, remain nameless…

And if your photos still need a boost, Galaxy’s Gallery app lets you drag AI-enhanced edits around for perfect composition.

All this was done by a self-described photo idiot with zero editing skills. The new Galaxy S25 Ultra AI tools take the pain out of photo fails, making quick fixes and creative edits intuitive and instant.

Could this be the phone to put your behind-the-scenes disaster photos on blast? Looks like it.
