Pat Gelsinger launches new AI benchmark focused on human values
Former Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger revealed his next move after leaving Intel. He teamed up with Gloo, a “faith tech” company he invested in 10 years ago, to launch a new AI benchmark called Flourishing AI (FAI).
FAI tests AI models on how well they align with human flourishing. It’s based on The Global Flourishing Study from Harvard and Baylor University, which measures human well-being globally.
The benchmark uses six core categories from the study: Character and Virtue, Close Social Relationships, Happiness and Life Satisfaction, Meaning and Purpose, Mental and Physical Health, Financial and Material Stability. Gloo added a seventh: Faith and Spirituality.
Gelsinger told The New Stack he’s “lived at the intersection of faith tech my entire life.”
"I’ve lived at the intersection of faith tech my entire life."
This launch signals Gelsinger’s focus on steering AI toward supporting humanity beyond just efficiency or raw intelligence.
More on this as it develops.
