EDGNEX Data Centers by DAMAC is building one of Southeast Asia’s largest AI-focused data center campuses in Jakarta. The project got a hefty $2.3 billion (SGD 2.95 billion) backing.
The campus will pack a 144MW capacity designed specifically for high-density AI workloads. Energy efficiency is a core target, pushing for a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.32.
DAMAC’s EDGNEX snagged the site in March 2025. Construction is already underway. Phase one aims to go live by December 2026.
The company is also developing a separate 19.2MW facility in Jakarta, expected by Q3 2026.
DAMAC Group founder Hussain Sajwani commented on the bigger vision:
“This project is part of our broader push across Southeast Asia, where we have committed over $3 billion in digital infrastructure investments to date,” said Hussain Sajwani, founder of DAMAC Group, which owns EDGNEX.
“Jakarta is central to our vision of supporting the region’s rapid digital transformation with world-class, sustainable data centre infrastructure.”
EDGNEX is clearly betting big on capturing Southeast Asia’s growing AI infrastructure demand, doubling down on digital transformation with mega-scale, sustainable builds.
