Databahn launches AI-powered security telemetry platform, scores $17M Series A
Dallas startup Databahn rolled out its AI-driven DataBahn.ai platform that sifts through massive log telemetry to spot security threats. The product uses its Cruz AI agent to automate log discovery, onboarding, normalization, and schema drift handling. It transforms data to models like CIM, ECS, or OCSF and integrates with Reef, a tool that filters and prioritizes data in real time.
The founders, CEO Nanda Santhana and President Nithya Nareshkumar, aim to cut security telemetry costs by half, separating data management from pricey SIEM platforms and security lakes like Databricks or Snowflake. Databahn’s approach moves telemetry directly to enterprise-owned data lakes, improving clarity, control, and composability.
Using seed capital from GTM Capital, Databahn secured $17 million more in Series A funding led by Forgepoint Capital with participation from S3 Ventures and returning investor GTM Capital. This brings total funding to $19 million.
Databahn plans to expand globally and develop “autonomous agents that learn from enterprise data flows to automate data engineering tasks.”
Santhana said:
We’re building the foundation for a new era of observability, one where data is not just moved, but understood, enriched and made AI-ready in real time.
The stack can handle telemetry from security, observability, IoT/OT, and AI ecosystems. It also adds “Phantom” agents that collect telemetry without traditional deployment, preserving compute resources and cutting footprint bloat. Users get federated search and persona-based insights beyond simple SQL queries.
This AI-driven pipeline could attract established security vendors or data protection firms looking to boost cyber-resilience.
