France bans TikTok for civil servants amid data security fears
France just blocked TikTok from all government employee phones. The move targets concerns over data privacy and national security risks tied to the app’s Chinese ownership.
The ban rolled out across ministries and public services this week. Officials said TikTok could be exploited to collect sensitive info or spread disinformation within the government workforce. 
The launch follows similar restrictions in Italy and Australia, both citing data security threats from TikTok.
French authorities are monitoring the situation closely but have not yet ruled out broader measures if the risks remain high.
The move follows similar steps by some other countries, including Italy and Australia.
