Amazon Web Services launching AI agent marketplace July 15 at AWS Summit NYC. Anthropic is a confirmed partner, sources told TechCrunch.

This marketplace lets startups sell AI agents directly to AWS users. Customers can browse and install AI agents all in one place. It aims to break siloed AI agent offerings.

Anthropic, backed by Amazon and nearing a multibillion-dollar Amazon investment, builds agents and offers an API for developers. Its involvement could boost reach and revenue. Anthropic hit $3 billion in annualized revenue just last month.

AWS will take a small cut from agent sales but opens new revenue streams for startups. Pricing works like a SaaS marketplace, charging per agent.

Amazon jumps in after Google Cloud and Microsoft launched their own AI agent marketplaces earlier this year. Salesforce and ServiceNow also offer agent stores.

How well these marketplaces help smaller AI startups and customers is still unclear.

Amazon and Anthropic did not respond to requests for comments.
