Applied Intuition just raised $600 million in a Series F round, pushing its valuation to $15 billion. The round was co-led by BlackRock-managed funds and Kleiner Perkins. New investors include Qatar Investment Authority, Abu Dhabi Investment Council, and Greycroft. Existing backers like General Catalyst, Lux, Elad Gil, and Bond also chipped in.

This massive raise comes just a year after a $250 million Series E that valued the company at $6 billion. Applied Intuition builds software for autonomous vehicle development, focusing on simulation and data management. They work with major automakers and AV startups like Gatik and Kodiak.

CEO Qasar Younis told TechCrunch last year that the goal is to be the go-to for any software or AI problem in autonomy.

Applied Intuition is also expanding into defense. The U.S. Army asked them to add autonomy to infantry squad vehicles. They turned a basic vehicle fully autonomous in 10 days. That included building a robot to physically control the steering, throttle, and brakes.

“When they think like, ‘I have this software or AI problem,’ we generally want them to think about us,” CEO Qasar Younis told TechCrunch last year. “Like we want to be that first call.”
