Apple is gearing up to finally launch a smarter Siri voice assistant with cross-app actions. The company has been testing an upgraded Siri that can interact with multiple apps to perform tasks on your behalf using just voice commands.
The new Siri will come alongside an updated App Intents framework. It allows developers to hook their apps into system features like Search and Shortcuts. Once live, you could tell Siri to find a photo, edit it, and send it. Or post on social media, book rides, even log in to apps by voice.
Bloomberg reports Apple is already testing this with big names like Uber, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp, and more. The updated Siri rollout is expected in spring 2026 after a delay. 
The move could finally turn Siri from a basic voice helper into a more hands-off assistant, acting inside your apps the way Apple showed off at earlier demos in 2024 but never released.
For now, Apple keeps pushing the timeline as it irons out the tech. But the latest report shows Apple still betting on Siri as a voice control hub for everyday tasks across services.
