UK Graduates Face Worst Job Market Since 2018 Amid Hiring Slowdown and AI Push
The graduate job market in the UK just hit its lowest point in seven years. New data from Indeed shows advertised roles for recent university grads dropped 33% compared to last year.
The job crunch is hitting hard as employers hit pause on hiring and lean on AI tools to cut recruitment costs. This squeeze comes with a rise in UK unemployment claims, jumping by 107,000 in May 2024 to 1.7 million total claimants. 
Indeed flags this as the toughest landscape recent grads have seen since 2018.
