Misinformation fueled by AI deepfakes explodes amid Iran-Israel war online
Misinformation—much of it AI-generated—has flooded the internet since the war between Israel and Iran kicked off. DW’s fact-check team is calling it out with a new report.
Deepfakes and AI-crafted content are mixing fact and fiction, making it hard for people to separate real news from fake. False videos, doctored images, and bogus claims swirl across social platforms, making the conflict even more confusing. 
The onslaught has intensified since the conflict began, spreading rapidly with little pushback before fact checks catch up.
