IBM Maximo is rolling out AI updates that put smarter asset management front and center.
First up: condition-based maintenance replaces old-school calendar schedules. AI now monitors equipment in real-time and signals when service is actually needed. The result? Longer asset life, fewer wasted repairs, and technicians who can actually focus on the right tasks.
Next, Maximo’s AI-driven Work Order Intelligence is upgrading data quality. It automatically recommends precise problem codes from descriptions, making it easier to spot trends fast. IBM plans to expand this to identify patterns across assets and maintenance history without requiring users to be data pros.
This move speeds up maintenance decision-making and sharpens operational insight for teams managing complex equipment.
No word yet on rollout timing or pricing changes. But Maximo’s latest AI smarts aim to keep factories and facilities running leaner and smarter.
