Google just launched a new shortcut button to edit videos in Drive using its AI-powered video tool, Vids.
Workspace users can now hit an “Open” button in Drive’s video preview. It instantly launches the video in Vids for quick edits—trimming, adding music, text, and more.
The shortcut appears by default, signaling tighter integration of Vids into Google Workspace. Vids launched last year to simplify video creation, with features like auto script writing, clip rearranging, and transitions—all powered by AI.
This update follows Google’s May rollout of a Gemini AI tool that summarizes video files stored in Drive.
Google aims to keep Workspace users creating faster and smarter with AI-driven video tools directly inside Drive.
