Lee Gun Joo revealed the switch came after his trot singing career stalled. Work opportunities suddenly dried up. He felt pushed by spirits to take this new direction.

It felt like [the spirits] were pushing me to the extreme, like I had no choice but to take this path of becoming a shaman. I felt that if I didn’t choose this path, I wouldn’t be able to go on anymore.”

Since then, he says business has boomed. His shaman services are booked months ahead. He even owns two foreign luxury cars now—something comedian Son Heon Soo noticed during a house visit.
