Truth Social just launched its own AI-powered search engine. The feature, called Truth Search AI, is now in public beta. It’s powered by Perplexity, the AI company behind the Sonar API.
Trump Media announced the rollout on Wednesday. The new search engine aims to boost info access on the platform with “direct, contextually accurate answers with transparent citations.”
A Perplexity rep confirmed the partnership but declined to share details or financials. 
Other social media giants already use AI search tools. Elon Musk’s xAI debuted Grok, an AI chatbot on X in 2023. Meta launched its own AI chatbot across its networks last year. Reddit also integrated AI-powered search in 2024.
Trump’s renewed focus on AI is clear. In January, he signed an executive order to “remove barriers to American leadership” in AI. The White House released a global AI action plan last month.
Devin Nunes, CEO of Trump Media, said user feedback will guide future updates.
Nunes stated:
“We plan to robustly refine and expand our search function based on user feedback as we implement a wide range of additional enhancements to the platform.”
Trump Media didn’t respond to further questions.
