Jellyfish reports a big jump in companies using agentic AI tools for coding.

Between December 2024 and May 2025, adoption of AI that reviews, writes, and submits code on its own rose from 50% to 82%, Jellyfish’s survey across 400+ companies shows.

AI-powered code reviews exploded too. Usage doubled from 39% in January to 76% in May. Top tools include GitHub Copilot Reviewer, Cursor BugBot, and CodeRabbit. Newcomers Graphite and Greptile are also gaining ground.

Full agentic coding workflows, where AI writes and submits code without human help, are still rare but growing. Under 8% of firms are piloting this, up from just 2% in January.

Agentic AI is spreading fast but hasn’t taken full control of coding yet.
