Donald Trump is set to roll out a new AI policy plan focused on easing regulations and boosting energy sources for data centers. The AI Action Plan will push Congress to block states from regulating AI independently.

The administration’s blueprint comes after months of talks with major players like OpenAI, Meta, and Google. It aims to accelerate U.S. AI development and global adoption without heavy-handed rules.

Trump will sign several executive orders around this push. One order will demand that all large language models bought by the government be neutral and unbiased. The plan also supports third-party AI risk evaluations.

Guidance on strengthening power grids is not expected to be included in the plan, the people said.”

The White House will run a nationwide campaign to promote the policy, led by the Office of Science and Technology Policy. The plan calls for expanding U.S. AI exports via the International Development Finance Corporation and Export-Import Bank.

Trump is scheduled to discuss the AI strategy on July 23 at an All-In podcast event. The proposal marks his administration’s biggest AI move yet, aiming to cut red tape and secure America’s tech edge internationally.
