Decart just launched Mirage, an AI tool that twists live video in real time. CEO Dean Leitersdorf showed off the tech over Zoom by typing wild prompts like “wild west, cosmic, Roman Empire, golden, underwater.” The result? A psychedelic, gold-tinged Julius Caesar version of himself—complete with a poncho.

Mirage lets users morph videos on the fly. The company rolled out a website and app Thursday where people can remix their own videos or YouTube clips using preset themes like “anime,” “Dubai skyline,” “cyberpunk,” or "Versailles Palace." Leitersdorf demoed by turning a Fortnite clip underwater.

This isn’t just flashy filters. Decart’s code digs deep to run these heavy calculations on Nvidia GPUs. The system pumps out 20 frames per second at 768×432 resolution with about 100 milliseconds latency—enough for smooth clips like TikTok.

Back in November 2024, Decart demoed a game called Oasis that creates Minecraft-like worlds procedurally using similar AI tech. Now, live video remixing ramps up the challenge but the company claims they nailed it with low-level optimizations.

Dean Leitersdorf said:

“I have no idea what’s going to happen."

"I have no idea what’s going to happen," Leitersdorf says with a laugh, shortly before transforming into a bizarre, gold-tinged, subaquatic version of Julius Caesar in a poncho.

Check out Mirage here and prepare for a wild ride of cosmic video mashups.
