xAI just launched AI companions including a goth waifu named Ani and a homicidal red panda called Bad Rudy. Now, the company is hiring a “Fullstack Engineer – Waifus” to build more AI-powered anime girls designed for user attachment.
The job listing spells out the mission: create AI that “can accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in the pursuit of knowledge.” Right now, that means making submissive, pocket-sized girlfriends to win hearts and wallets.
xAI has dozens of open roles but this new waifu-centric position highlights where some of its focus lies. Expect Ani to get company soon.
