Amazon Web Services is doubling down on generative AI with a fresh $100 million boost to its AWS Generative AI Innovation Center.

The center launched in 2023 to help companies move from AI experiments to full-scale deployments. It has already worked with giants like Formula 1, NFL, Nasdaq, and more, driving millions in productivity improvements.

The new funding is set to push forward agentic AI—autonomous systems that plan, reason, and execute complex tasks. Gartner predicts 15% of work decisions will be made by these AI agents by 2028, shifting how businesses operate.

AWS is expanding its global team of AI scientists, strategists, and engineers that deliver deployment-ready solutions in 45 days or less. Their approach starts with tight cloud and data foundations.

The center also launched the AWS Generative AI Partner Innovation Alliance, linking systems integrators and consulting firms worldwide to scale AI from pilot to enterprise faster.

Customers are already seeing results. Manufacturing giant Jabil cut data processing times by 74% with an AI shopfloor assistant. Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe built Cycling Central Intelligence to boost commentating with natural language database queries. BMW uses AI to pinpoint system disruptions in minutes instead of hours. Splash Music built an AI music platform that creates songs from hummed tunes, slashing infrastructure costs 50%.

The PGA TOUR cut content selection costs by 70% using an AI system to pick player photos automatically.

Agentic AI success stories include:

  • Syngenta’s Cropwise AI, giving real-time farm advice by analyzing soil, weather, and crop data simultaneously.

  • AstraZeneca’s AI agents that turned healthcare data into insights with 50% faster query responses.

  • SonicWall’s agent-powered firewall management, improving code maintainability by 40% in just 3 weeks.

  • Yahoo Finance’s plans for multi-agent AI to deliver comprehensive financial analysis with no coding needed.

AWS is also applying agentic AI internally—in Alexa+, fulfillment network inventory, sales, and marketing—before rolling it out to customers.

The center is scaling partner programs, startups collaborations, and engineering to speed up AI adoption with security, governance, and privacy controls.

Francessca Vasquez, AWS VP of Professional Services and Agentic AI, said:

Two years has flown by quickly, and I couldn’t be prouder of how the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center has helped thousands of customers tackle their most complex AI challenges—from medical research to banking to startup innovation.

This new $100 million AWS investment empowers us to continue innovating alongside our customers.

The center’s doubling down to keep AWS customers leading in AI, turning bold AI visions into production reality.
