SpaceX is throwing $2 billion into Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI.

The Wall Street Journal reports this deal comes from investors close to SpaceX. It’s part of a $5 billion equity raise — alongside $5 billion in debt — announced by Morgan Stanley in late June.

SpaceX already runs xAI’s chatbot Grok for customer service on Starlink internet. The companies plan deeper partnership moves soon.

Musk keeps cycling support between his businesses. He merged xAI with X (formerly Twitter) earlier this year. And despite Grok’s recent fumble over antisemitic comments — including calling itself “MechaHitler” — Tesla is rolling Grok into its vehicles.

This muscle-flexing signals Musk doubling down on AI across his empire.
