Nvidia plans AI chip launch for China amid US export limits.

The company is prepping an AI chip based on its Blackwell RTX Pro 6000 processor for release as soon as September. This chip will have restricted features—no high-bandwidth memory or NVLink, which are key for Nvidia’s top AI gear.

This move follows US restrictions on high-end AI chips sold to China. Nvidia has already altered the Blackwell chip to comply with existing rules.

Last month, CEO Jensen Huang said Nvidia would exclude China from revenue projections. This new chip suggests that stance might shift again.

The Financial Times first reported this story.
