The ministry said this will "help restaurant owners and consumers understand the technology behind the menus and ordering systems."
"The new QR codes will contain detailed digital information, including the source code behind restaurant menus and kitchen operations," the Ministry of Economy stated.
"This is part of Dubai’s push towards enhancing transparency and trust in the food service sector through digital innovation."
The launch follows Dubai’s big bets on AI integration across sectors. Monitoring public reaction as diners face menu source code alongside their hummus and shawarma.
