Xbox Series X|S is facing fresh backlash over its next-gen console design. Gamers and critics are calling out Microsoft’s bulky tower shape once again — the same style it stuck with since launch.
The issue started with a new side-angle photo shared recently, highlighting the unusually large vents and blocky exterior. Fans say the design looks outdated compared to sleeker competitors. A sharp comment circulating online read: “Read the room Matt,” referring to Xbox design lead Matt Booty.
Soon after, Xbox users took to Twitter and forums to blast the styling. Many want a console that’s easier to fit into modern setups and less “computer-like.” 
The launch follows a year of rumors that Microsoft might revamp the console’s physical design but isn’t doing so this generation. Instead, Xbox is focusing on power and game library.
Microsoft hasn’t officially responded yet but is likely monitoring the reactions as complaints grow.
