ZTE and Multimedia University launch Malaysia’s government officers into a high-stakes cybersecurity and AI bootcamp starting May 2025.

20 senior officers from 14 ministries are sponsored by the Public Service Department (JPA). The goal: upgrade public sector skills in AI, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.

The program runs in two phases. Phase one is a one-month intensive at MMU, focusing on cybersecurity basics, AI-driven innovation, and generative AI with lectures, labs, and real-world simulations.

Phase two drops participants into a five-month China industry attachment. ZTE organizes this with MMU experts. Attendees will get hands-on exposure to smart cities, digital governance, and emerging cyber defenses through workshops and tech hub visits.

Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud, President of MMU, said:

Through this programme, participants will gain invaluable international exposure and hands-on experience with top technology firms in China, enabling them to return as digital transformation champions within their respective ministries.

The program runs through November 2025, blending academic training with on-the-ground tech industry experience to build Malaysia’s next wave of public sector digital leaders.
