Lucid hit a new sales record in Q2 with 3,309 vehicle deliveries—a 6% jump from the previous quarter. Production also surged to 3,863 units, nearly 1,000 more than Q1’s 2,212 vehicles.

The boost includes 600 units shipped to Saudi Arabia for final assembly. Despite the gains, Lucid faces a 14,000-vehicle shortfall to reach its 20,000 annual production target. Only 6,075 vehicles were produced in H1 2024.

To close the gap, Lucid must increase output of its all-electric Gravity SUV. Production started in December 2024, mostly for employees, family, and friends. Customer sales are increasing, but CEO Marc Winterhoff admitted production is “slower than desired,” citing tariff pressures and quality controls.

Winterhoff claimed strong customer interest in Gravity to counter demand concerns.

During the Q1 earnings call, Winterhoff said supply chain bottlenecks delayed timelines.

“The more important point is that we’re taking the time to get it right, not just getting it out.”

He promised these issues would clear in Q2 to meet 2025 production goals.

Lucid declined to detail breakdowns between Air and Gravity models or comment on Q2 figures. More info will come with the earnings report on August 5.

It’s also unclear how Lucid’s new company car program and sales to rental fleets affected Q2 numbers. In Q1, Lucid sold about 300 cars to “rental companies,” mostly leasing firms leasing back to the automaker per a spokesperson.

The next update drops August 5.
