Meta is in talks to buy voice cloning startup Play AI, Bloomberg reports. The deal would grab Play AI’s tech and talent.
Play AI’s tech lets users clone voices for AI-powered uses like customer service. The startup has raised $23.5 million from investors including 500 Startups and Kindred Ventures.
Meta’s push for Play AI fits with its move to add audio features to its AI tools. The company already lets creators build chatbots and recently added video editing to its Meta AI chatbot.
Meta declined to comment. Play AI has not responded yet.
