Google just launched Doppl, a new experimental AI app that lets you try on clothes virtually using a photo of yourself. The app is available now on iOS and Android in the U.S.

You upload a full-body photo. Then you feed the app images or screenshots of outfits — from thrift store finds, friends’ clothes, or social media posts. Doppl renders a virtual you wearing the outfit.

It goes further than static images. Doppl can generate AI videos showing how the outfit looks on you, moving in real life. You can save favorite looks, browse past try-ons, and share your styles.

The app builds on Google Shopping’s virtual try-on tools but focuses on your own animated body rather than models. Google sees Doppl as a fun way to explore style and a way to gather data for future projects.

Google warns Doppl is still early-stage and might not always get fit or details right.

“We hope Doppl helps you explore your style in new and exciting ways,” Google said.
“As a Google Labs experiment, Doppl is in its early days and it might not always get things right. Fit, appearance and clothing details may not always be accurate.”

No word yet on if Doppl will come to other countries.
