Salesforce is doubling down on AI to cut workloads and boost efficiency. CEO Marc Benioff says AI now handles 30% to 50% of the company’s work, freeing humans for higher-value tasks.

The shift isn’t painless. Salesforce cut over 1,000 jobs earlier this year to realign around AI.

Benioff calls it a "digital labor revolution" with AI accuracy hitting about 93%.

“All of us have to get our head around this idea that AI could do things, that before, we were doing, and we can move on to do higher-value work,” Marc Benioff said in a Bloomberg interview.

“It’s pretty good,” he added, but “it’s not realistic" to reach 100% accuracy. Other vendors are behind due to less data and metadata.

Other tech leaders are following suit. CrowdStrike, Klarna, and Amazon have all slashed headcounts partly because of AI. Klarna’s CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski revealed a 40% staff cut attributed to AI investments. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy confirmed AI will be used to reduce roles.

The race to automate tech jobs with AI is heating up fast.
