Oakley and Meta launch AI-powered Meta HSTN sunglasses with 3K Ultra HD video and longer battery life.

The Limited Edition Oakley Meta HSTN goes up for preorder July 11 at $499. The standard model hits later this summer for $399.

These glasses record in 3K Ultra HD—far beyond the Ray-Ban Meta’s 1080p. Battery life is up 40%, lasting about eight hours of typical use. Standby time extends to 19 hours. The charging case adds 48 extra hours of juice.

The two companies haven’t detailed what extras the Limited Edition offers beyond an earlier preorder and higher price.

"Oakley and Meta say it should last about eight hours under typical use, with a standby battery life of up to 19 hours. The included charging case offers another 48 hours of additional charge."

No separate release date for the Limited Edition is confirmed, so expect it alongside the regular versions later this summer.

Both Oakley and Ray-Ban are EssilorLuxottica brands, so an updated Ray-Ban Meta with Oakley’s upgrades could drop soon, though no word yet.

For now, the newest top-shelf AI sunglasses are the Oakley Meta HSTN. Preorder details are available on Oakley’s website.
