Apple rolled out visionOS 26 updates for its mixed reality Vision Pro headset at WWDC. New spatial widgets, deeper photo effects, upgraded AI-driven Personas, and shared experiences headline the release.
Widgets are now fully spatial. You can resize, recolor, and place them anywhere in your environment. New options include a customizable clock, weather that updates to your local conditions, music controls, and photos that expand into panoramas or “windows to another space.”
The Photos app uses a fresh AI algorithm that adds depth to 2D images, letting you “lean right into them and look around.” Safari’s spatial browsing hides distractions, animates inline images, and developers can add support in their apps.
Personas, Apple’s AI video call avatars, get a major upgrade. visionOS 26 uses volumetric rendering and machine learning to create more lifelike profiles with natural side views, accurate hair, lashes, and skin tones. Setup happens instantly right on your device.
Social and enterprise features ramp up too. You can now watch movies or play spatial games with another Vision Pro user. Enterprise apps can use new APIs and a “for your eyes only” mode to safeguard sensitive content. Team-sharing lets multiple people use the same headset, with your settings and eye/hand data saved securely on your iPhone.
Apple showed off Logitech Muse — a new spatial accessory for drawing and collaborating in 3D inside Vision Pro apps.
Additional updates include support for six new languages, eye-tracking scrolling, unlocking your iPhone while wearing the headset, and relayed iPhone calls directly to Vision Pro.
This update pushes Apple’s mixed reality ecosystem further into personal, social, and enterprise realms, sharpening the Vision Pro experience with smarter AI and deeper immersion.
