Microsoft Photos just rolled out a major update for Windows 11 Insiders. It’s packed with new features for Copilot+ PCs to boost your photo editing and searching power.
First up: Relight. This tool lets you control lighting in your photos like a pro. You can place up to three lights, pick their colors, and set where they focus. Adjust brightness and intensity with sliders or apply presets for quick changes. It’s perfect for fixing bad lighting or adding creative effects. Right now, Relight works on Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs. AMD and Intel Copilot+ machines get it in a few months.
Next, search just got way smarter in Photos. You can now use natural language queries like “sunset at the beach” or “family outdoor fun” to find photos instantly. No more hunting for file names or sorting by date. This works on locally indexed photos in your Pictures Library. Microsoft shared more details on semantic indexing on Copilot+ PCs.
For business users, Entra ID support is here. Commercial accounts can now use Restyle Image and Image Creator features previously limited to personal Microsoft accounts.
Update your Photos app to version 2025.11060.5006.0 or higher to grab these features. Microsoft wants your feedback via Feedback Hub under Apps > Photos.
