Google is delaying the rollout of its “Ask Photos” feature for two weeks. Product manager Jamie Aspinall shared the news on X, citing issues with latency, quality, and overall user experience.

Some users currently have access, but a new version will roll out soon to fix these problems.

The issue started after the feature was announced at Google I/O last year. Powered by Google’s Gemini AI, Ask Photos lets users search their Google Photos libraries using simple natural language prompts.

A user could ask for "one great photo from each of their visits to a National Park," for example.

Google has not responded to requests for comment before publication.

Jamie Aspinall stated…
"We’re working on improving latency, quality, and user experience…"

"A new version will be shipped in about two weeks."
